TrueConnect: Connections - Customizing Products

When a supplier invites a reseller to connect using TrueConnect, the supplier will have the option to allow the reseller to have the freedom to customize any connected products.

Note: This setting is optional. If you want to confirm that this option is enabled or disabled, simply go to the Manage Connection Settings page and look for "Customizable By Reseller."

If enabled, you're good to customize any connected products with that setting enabled!
If disabled, the supplier will need to disable your existing connection and re-invite you to sell that product. The ability to allow customization by reseller is only available upon initial product connection.

Note: Any and all changes made by the reseller will have no impact on the product outside of their own business. For example, if the reseller changes the name of a product, the name change will not show up on the supplier side.

Customizing Connected Products

If you've previously created products for your own business, then you should already know how to customize a product. If not, you can follow the directions found in the Products section of our Support Center.

Here are some things to watch out for, or avoid:
If something is grayed out, that means it can't be edited. While you do have the freedom to customize products, not everything about a connected product can be customized.
You can customize product prices, but it's recommended to avoid going lower than what the supplier sells it for. Any reductions to the price will come out of your own commissions or net rate, and could even lead to you owing the supplier money if you're selling at a loss.
You can not edit inventory quantities, availability, times, etc.

Here are some things you can do:
Change the product name and details
Update marketing details and imagery to better fit your own brand
Customize pricing, fees, taxes, and more.
Add your own discounts and promo codes.
...and more!

After you have made any and all changes you want to make, you can publish the product and make it public for your customers to purchase.
